The main models in the An-148 class are An-148-100, whose variations include An-148-100A, An-148-100B and An-148-100.

Antonov An148 Powertrain

An-148-100 is a passenger aircraft with a vast array of approximately 4,400 km with approximately 85 seats. All variants have similar airframes. An-148-100A is a short-haul passenger plane (2,000 km-3,000 km) with as much as 85 seats. An-148-100B is a passenger aircraft with an extended range of 3,600 km with as much as 85 seats.

Other variants of the class include the stretched version of the An-158 or An-148-200 fuselage, the An-168 business variant and the An-178 cargo variant. The An-168 can accommodate 8 to 40 passengers and has a higher range (approximately 7,000 km). An-178 has a higher 25t load capacity.

Antonov An148 Exterior

An-148 made its first flight on December 17, 2004 and certification testing was completed in December 2006. The first An-148 series aircraft created by VASO JSC completed its inaugural flight on July 28, 2009. The first international commercial flight from An-148 was made from Odessa to Moscow on December 13, 2009.

Antonov An-148 Engine

The An-148 is powered by two high D-436-148 bypass turbo fans developed by Ivchenko-Progress. Each engine provides a maximum takeoff boost of 6.830 Kgf. Automatic control and monitoring systems optimize engine performance.

Antonov An148 Powertrain

An-148 has a cruising speed of 800 km/ h-870km/ hour. The maximum load range is 3,500 km. The aircraft can fly at a maximum flight height of 12,200 m. The maximum take-off weight is 41.55 t and the maximum payload capacity is 9t. The aircraft can operate at temperatures on land ranging from -55 ° C to + 45 ° C.

Antonov An-148 Specs

An-148 combines a high wing monoplane design. It has the highest weight efficiency in its class due to the use of titanium alloys in structural components. This aircraft is equipped with bulletproof doors and anti-thief devices. Additional space is attended to the storage of weapons and ammunition.

Two turbofan jet engines are installed in pods under the wing. This arrangement protects the engine and wing structure against damage from foreign matter (FOD). Advanced aircraft systems and wing configurations allow aircraft to use all types of aerodromes including airfields that are not well equipped.

The tricycle type landing gear consists of a nose landing gear, right and left main landing gear. The main landing gear pulls back into the well on the fuselage.

Antonov An-148 Cabin and Interior

The layout of the passenger cabin is created to combine different seating configurations including economic, business and VIP arrangements. Passenger capacity can vary from 10 to 85 based on configuration. Cabin layout includes service areas, individual and public areas. The passenger compartment has a modern seat and information entertainment system.

Shelves near the head that can be closed are available for handbags. The 4.2 m ³ space allocated for these shelves is the largest in regional aircraft classes and short distances.

The luggage compartment and cargo measuring 14.6 m ³ are provided under the passenger compartment floor and on the tail. The noise level in the cabin is very poor and meets all international flight standards.

Antonov An-148 Cockpit and Avionics

An-148 has a partial glass cockpit that can accommodate four crew members. The cockpit is equipped with five 6in × 8in multifunctional LCDs developed by Aviapribor and fly-by-wire flight controls.

Modern avionics suites include navigation and radio communication equipment, multifunction indicators and fly-by-wire systems that are compatible with VFR and IFR weather conditions, day and night. The onboard video surveillance system allows the crew to monitor passenger compartments and service areas.

Antonov An-148 Price and Orders

The price of the newest An-148 aircraft is about US $ 20 – 30 Million. Antonov built two An-148 prototypes in 2004 and 2005. The first prototype was being operated by Aerosvit Airlines and the second was stretched in 2009 to create An-158 (An-148-200). Orders were received from Ilyushin Finance (IFC) in April 2005. Seven planes were created at Aviant, while VASO sent three aircraft to the aggregate of Kyiv.
