The aircraft is developed to meet ASTM's international LSA standards, the aircraft only underwent flight testing 180 hours before being certified due to the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The aircraft headed introduced at the Sport Aviation Expo in Sebring, Florida in 2014. Since its introduction, Vickers Wave aircraft have received expressions of interest from several airline companies in the US, Europe and Malaysia.
Vickers Wave Engine and Performance
The Vickers Wave seaplane is powered due to the Intercooled Turbo ROTAX 915is engine which produces an output power of 141 hp. The engine moves the 72-in Catto three-bladed propeller. The aircraft uses Auto-Gas or Av-Gas fuel and has a full fuel capacity of 190 l.
