Eviation Alice Commuter: Price, Specs, Interior, & Cockpit. Eviation Alice Commuter is a regional electric-powered airplane with zero emissions which is being developed by Eviation Aircraft, Israel. This aircraft is designed to carry up to nine passengers and two crews in accordance with FAA Federal Aviation Regulations Part 23, this aircraft is a fully electric commercial business aircraft that is fully qualified.

The Eviation Alice airframe was built using lightweight carbon fiber composite materials supplied by Carboman Group’s subsidiary, Multiplast. Composite materials will offer a lightweight airframe while maintaining its strength. This aircraft has a fixed wing design, low wing configuration, and v-tail rear structure.

Takeoff and landing operations are supported by regular tricycle type retractable landing gear. The landing gear wheel was supplied by Magnaghi Aeronautica. Overall the Eviation Alice aircraft has a length of 12.2 m, wingspan reaches 16.12 m and the maximum take-off weight is 6,350 kg.

The Eviation Alice uses a distributed propulsion system consisting of a five-bladed main propeller, which is reinforced by a pair of additional propeller thrusters mounted at the wingtips. The propeller is specially developed by the Hartzell Propeller company. The main propeller propellers are able to take off and land in the event of an emergency wingtip.

The blades are made of carbon fiber material, with the leading edge of cobalt nickel. The wingtip propellers help reduce the induced drag, while the motor helps with the self-balancing evaporating operation.

Eviation Alice’s cockpit equipped with a large windshield offers better lighting. The cockpit can accommodate two crew members consisting of a pilot and co-pilot. This aircraft integrates Honeywell avionics and fly-by-wire flight systems. The aircraft is also equipped with a thermal management system to maintain the temperature of the electric engine unit and an autonomous landing system.

The pressurized cab of the Eviation Alice aircraft offers spacious and comfortable seating for 9 passengers, with direct access to the aisle for everyone. The aircraft will have low operating costs given its all-composite structure and electrical energy source, which also produces zero emissions and low noise levels.

The price of the Eviation Alice Commuter electric aircraft is around US $ 4 million. The aircraft is currently under development, US regional airline Cape Air has ordered Eviation Alice with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2022.
