Tomark Viper SD-4 Specs, Price, Interior, Cockpit, & Photos. The Viper SD-4 is a two-seat light sport aircraft made and cultivated by TomarkAero. This aircraft could be used for sports, entertainment and recreational flying. This aircraft completed the SPIN test in November 2015. The SPIN test is required to obtain a certificate from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in the CS-LSA category. It received an EASA type certification in March 2016 and began production at the Tomark facility located in Prešov in Slovakia. Light sport aircraft on display at the AERO Friedrichshafen in April 2016.

The Viper SD-4 is powered by a four-stroke, four-cylinder Rotax 912 engine with a liquid-cooled cylinder head and an air-cooled cylinder. The engine produces an output power of 100 hp to drive the fixed-pitch and variable-bladed propeller blades. To support engine performance, the aircraft is equipped with a fuel tank with a capacity of 100 liters.

Viper SD-4 aircraft can fly at cruise speeds of 200 km/ h, kiosk speeds of 75 km/ h, and never exceed 240 km/ h. It has a maximum range of 1,100 km (594 nm), climbing rate of 5 m/ s and a service ceiling of 5,000 m (16,404 ft). The aircraft requires a distance of 180 m for take-off and 160 m for landing.

Viper SD-4 aircraft were created using CAD design and CNC precision cutting methods. The fuselage is built with an all-metal semi-monocoque and frame structure, with aluminum alloy stringer and leather. Integrated airframe with vertical stabilizers and steering. Consists of an elevator equipped with a trimming tab. The aircraft engine compartment is built separately from the crew compartment. It is separated by a steel firewall and also consists of a three-point harness. The overall dimensions of the aircraft consist of length of 6.4 m, height of 2.2 m and wingspan of 8.4 m.

The Viper SD-4 aircraft is equipped with a tricycle landing gear. This features composition springs and hydraulic disc brakes on wheels controlled from the center panel. The front landing gear wheel is equipped with a slim cover and rubber band for bearings. This aircraft can optionally be equipped with a towing hook for use as a towing tower that can take off with weights of up to 750 kg. The aircraft’s empty weight is 285 kg, while the maximum take-off weight (MTOW) is 472.5 kg.

The Viper SD-4 aircraft cockpit is integrated with the latest avionics technology with extensive utility options featuring aviation, navigation, communication, and top monitoring systems with large-sized liquid crystal (LCD) screens. These consist of lifts, ailerons controlled through push rods, and steering controlled through Bowden cables. Avionics further consists of electric flaps, electric trims, autopilot, and ballistic recovery systems (AEPS).

The spacious Viper SD-4 cabin can accommodate two personnel comprising of a pipolt and a passenger in an adjoining configuration. The cabin is covered by clear or colored canopies, which could be opened up and back. The cabin features three air vents behind the fuselage.
