Antonov An-178: Specs, Price, Cockpit & Details. The Antonov An-178 is a medium-short haul transport aircraft currently being created by Antonov, a company based in Ukraine. The first An-178 prototype was launched in Kyiv on April 16, 2015. The aircraft will be readily available in civil and military configurations, and will replace old aircraft like the Antonov An-12, Antonov An-26 and Antonov An-32.
Construction on the second An-178 aircraft began in March 2015 while the aircraft’s first flight was expected to occur in the end of 2015. An-178 is expected to face potential competition from Alenia C-27J Spartan, EADS CASA C-295, Lockheed Martin C-130J, Embraer KC-390 and Ilyushin Il-214.

The price of the most up to date 178 aircraft is around US $ 40 – 70 Million. In March 2015, Maximus Air authorized an MoU with Antonov to order an undisclosed variety of An-178 twinjet civil variants. Maximus will be the customer for the launch of the An-178 aircraft.
